Construction Estimator - Multifamily
Type: Full-Time

About the Role:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator who can accurately assess project costs and requirements from concept through completion. This person will play a key role in preparing competitive bids, reviewing plans, and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on budget and on schedule.

What You’ll Do:

• Interpret blueprints, design documents, and specifications to determine the scope of work, labor needs, and material requirements.
• Work closely with architects, engineers, and internal teams to clarify design details and resolve any discrepancies.
• Create thorough cost breakdowns and pricing models based on project data and specifications.
• Use spreadsheets and estimating software to input dimensions, materials, and labor rates to calculate total project costs.
• Request, evaluate, and negotiate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive and accurate bids.
• Maintain organized records of materials, supplier information, and pricing documentation.
• Communicate regularly with clients, vendors, and project managers to review estimates and align expectations.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and verify accuracy throughout all project phases.
• Monitor and update cost reports and expenditure tracking as projects progress.
• Analyze cost performance against estimates to identify trends and potential improvements.
• Support project planning and provide cost feedback to management as needed.

Skills & Experience You’ll Bring:

Required:

• Minimum 5 years of experience estimating for residential or multifamily construction
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
• Capable of handling multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to travel to job sites when necessary

Preferred:

• 5+ years of experience estimating in commercial construction
• Working knowledge of software such as Stack, Procore, ProEst, BuildingConnected, Adobe, Bluebeam, Revu, or AutoCAD
