Receiving coordinator

Job Descriptions:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

To effectively prioritize the receiving of material and process incoming shipments quickly and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Determine if material is a Customer Return, Customer furnished, Government furnished, or Company acquired.

• Inspect material for visible damage prior to unloading.

• Verify shipment per packing list.

• Ensure non-inventory items are distributed to the correct departments.

• Completes required paperwork and system transactions accordingly.

• Responsible for observing and enforcing safety practices throughout the plant to maintain a safe working environment.

• Document any discrepancies and notify proper buyer.

• Enter correct information into AS400 Receiving/Purchase Order program.

• Work with Receiving Inspection to document and identify any incorrect material.

• Scan freight bills and invoices into AR folder daily.

• Properly identify and label all incoming material.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Experience:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.

• Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.

• Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.

• Ability to certify to safely operate equipment including forklifts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years of relevant experience in a receiving / manufacturing environment.

• Ability to communicate clearly with others both verbally and in written form.

• MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

• MRP/ERP Experience preferred.

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Shop Floor environment.

• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.

• Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to tolerate constant noise (i.e.: machine motors).

• Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.

• Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
