Auction Support Associate

We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team in a support and logistics role for online auctions. This part-time position offers flexible hours and is ideal for someone starting a career, semi-retired, or looking for supplemental work with meaningful, hands-on activity.

Job Details

• 20 hours / week anticipated but not guaranteed (+/-)
• Typical work schedule is Monday through Wednesday
• Auction experience not required
• The potential for this role to evolve into a management position exists for the right candidate

Main responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicle to transport, haul, and tow equipment and supplies to and from job sites
• Pick up and deliver tables, signs, and supplies to onsite auction locations and Lane Ryan Auctions (LRA) garage
• Set-up / tear down open house displays at real estate properties for sale
• Handling signage:
• Pre-auction: Pick-up signs at Sign Shop, deliver and install onsite auction signs and directional signs, fill brochure box
• Post-auction: Remove sign and return to LRA garage, install “SOLD” sign, exchange lockbox
• Pick-up auction flyers from print shop
• Collect boxes/trays for auction set-up (i.e. beer distributors, grocery stores, Sam’s Club etc.)
• Auction Set-Up: Assist with organizing personal property and general set-up
• Auction Pick-Up: Greet customers, help buyers find their winnings, load auction supplies post auction
• Conduct trash removal at onsite auction locations using LRA dump trailer
• Pack and haul donations to charitable organizations
• Maintenance and cleaning of equipment and vehicle; Manage organization of LRA garage
• Host auction open houses and previews
• Attend weekly team meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Driver’s License (Required)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting and carrying items weighing up to 75 pounds and frequently ascending and descending stairs
• Experience towing trailers and familiarity with heavy equipment
• Clear Communication and teamwork are critical. Auction schedules, deadlines and dates are not easily changed. Communication will ensure that we can stay working ahead. Qualified candidates will always be willing to lend a hand where needed.
