Staff Accountant
H Quest has an opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team. As the Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining bookkeeping records, ensuring accuracy, and assisting the senior leadership with financial decisions. Responsibilities:
- Maintain and protect confidential data with utmost scrutiny, judgment, and care
- Oversee day-to-day accounts payable including all aspects of processing invoices and employee reimbursements using QuickBooks
- Reconcile and post activity from bank, credit card statements, and information provided by clients/vendors
- Alert the CEO about billing and payment issues involving vendors or clients
- Review expense classifications with the CEO for reasonableness
- Review payroll entries from ADP and tie to payroll journals/records
- Prepare and update fixed asset records
- Organize all supporting work papers to substantiate balances in the financial statements
- Review QuickBooks monthly balance sheet and income statements
- Manage and support current portfolio of government contracts and projects with the CEO
- Support of all phases of contract administration (proposal through invoicing and closeout) of the contracting cycle for contracts and grants
- Manage regular invoicing and reporting process including ongoing budget analysis and interpretation of project deliverables, while also maintaining statuses of project costs and budgets
- Assist the team in the coordination of standard teaming agreements, memoranda of understanding and confidentiality agreements
Requirements:
- Knowledgeable and preferably proficient in QuickBooks Online
- BS Degree in Accounting or Finance + 2yrs (min) related work experience
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Access
- Proficiency in using project-based accounting software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with government contracting and reporting, including FAR and DCAA compliance and indirect cost calculation
- Experience with cashflow management and financial reporting
