Accountant Assistant (Recent Grads)

Our family-owned tax accounting firm is looking for recent graduates to join our accounting staff in Philadelphia, PA. We specialize in tax accounting, payroll, and business formation services for individuals, small business, and medium-sized businesses in the Tri-State area. The Accountant Assistants will undergo a specialized training program to learn each part of our service offering, including payroll, sales tax, income tax, financial statement preparation, tax research, and other relevant areas. There are opportunities for rapid advancement and to manage your own book of business within a few years for qualified individuals. Please see below for position requirements.

Position Responsibilities

• Support quarterly payroll, paycheck, and sales tax service for our business clients in a collaborative team environment
• Prepare basic federal, state, and local tax returns for businesses, individuals, and other organizations
• Generate profit and loss statements, financial statements, and other financial documents
• Conduct tax research for unique situations
• Correspond with government organizations to resolve client issues
• New assistants may be required to participate in a Customer Service rotation (<20% of time) to learn how to communicate and interact effectively with our clients. This rotation involves answering phone calls and greeting clients alongside our Customer Service team.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) or Vietnamese
• Self-motivated, organized, and a fast learner
• Strong bilingual communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• 0-3 years experience

Pay is dependent on experience. Typical work week is 40 hours not including lunch. Tax Season hours may be extended and include overtime & weekends.

Health insurance coverage will be available for purchase after 3 months. Company 401K with match available after 1 year. Vacation time available after 18 months.

Pay: $46,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
