Maintenance Technician A & B

JOB SUMMARY

Assist with installation and maintenance of both manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This will include a variety of basic disciplines; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, heating and ventilation, carpentry, grounds, etc. This position will also maintain buildings and grounds in a clean and acceptable manner.

Maintenance Tech A: requires 5 or more years’ of experience in Maintenance

Maintenance Tech B: requires 1 to 5 years’ of experience in Maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. The ability to assist with the installation and maintenance of facility systems; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating and ventilation, carpentry, grounds, welding, etc.
2. Maintain buildings and grounds in a clean and acceptable manner.
3. Detect and report faulty operations, materials and working conditions to supervisor.
4. Adhere to the company’s health and safety guidelines and policies - inclusive of using all PPE as mandated.
5. Maintain work area, equipment and tools in a clean and orderly manner.
6. Utilize and promote 5S tools and practices to sustain a high standard of cleanliness and safety both in the shop and throughout the facility.
7. Cross-train as assigned.
8. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Basic math skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
2. Ability to operate forklift and material handling equipment.
3. Ability to comply with company procedures for storage, handling and shipment of hazardous waste to act in accordance with government regulations.

• Training will be included upon assignment to such duties.

1. Basic welding skills.

1. Possess of a valid driver’s license.
2. General working knowledge of all aspects of industrial maintenance.
3. Mechanical and construction aptitude.
4. Willingness to work any shift as needed to meet maintenance and project needs.
5. Willingness to work mandatory overtime due to inclement weather and clean up.
6. Will need to provide own tools.

• Replacement tools will be provided by company if personal tools are damaged on the job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Physical fitness to perform all job functions of the designated work area. This includes hand / power tool use, standing, full arm and leg range of motion, bending, lifting, walking, crouching, kneeling, working in awkward positions, talking and hearing.
2. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
