Teacher Assistant
Teacher Assistant in Philadelphia, PA. Must have Bachelor's Degree in any field and 12 months of experience as a teacher.
Wage: $37,440.00/year. Duties:- Help students with their homework assignments and review materials;
- Offer additional tutoring or individualized support to students who are struggling academically;
- Offer one-on-one or small group language support to help students overcome language barriers;
- Help students understand and adjust to the new cultural norms and expectations in their school and community environment;
- Facilitate social interactions between children, helping them develop friendships and communication skills;
- Encourage positive behavior and teamwork, helping students practice social skills such as sharing, cooperating, and resolving conflicts;
- Be sensitive to potential trauma related to displacement, and work with the lead teacher or counselor to address any emotional or behavioral concerns;
- Provide information to families about community resources, such as language classes, social services, and cultural events, to help them integrate more easily into the local community.
