A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Laboratory Technician (Inventory)

A typical day for the Laboratory Technician includes daily checks for ordering requests, equipment, and temperature monitoring, and handling of projects related to the success of the inventory department. Tasks for this role are varied in support of the laboratory site's success, including collaboration, coordination, and understanding of several departments onsite, both inside and outside of the laboratory. Three main activities this role includes are inventory tracking, ordering and invoicing, and vendor communication.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or enrolled in college classes with an excellent GPA
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and EXCEL
• Proven flexibility and dependable performance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MLT (AA) recommended, not required
• No work experience required; experience in a laboratory setting preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong organizational, computer, LIMS, time management, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Independent thinker with the ability to read and understand laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Familiarity with the laboratory environment and a proactive approach to maintaining smooth operations

SCHEDULE

• Monday through Friday, 7:30 am-4 pm. The role may require flexibility to meet operational needs.
