Job Description
Large Loss Project Manager
East Stroudsburg, PA | Full-Time | On-Site
About Our Client
Our Client is a leading restoration company serving the Pocono Mountains region and surrounding communities. We help homeowners and businesses recover from water, fire, mold, and storm damage — restoring properties and peace of mind when people need it most. As part of a nationally recognized network, we combine the resources of a large organization with the responsiveness and care of a locally owned operation. We are growing rapidly and looking for experienced professionals to join our large loss division.
Position Summary
Our Client is seeking an experienced and driven Large Loss Project Manager to lead the oversight and successful delivery of large-scale commercial and residential restoration and reconstruction projects. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, insurance representatives, and subcontractors — managing all aspects of the project lifecycle from initial scope development through final completion. This is a front-line leadership position that requires deep field knowledge, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent results under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the full project lifecycle on large loss and commercial restoration/reconstruction projects, including water, fire, mold, and storm-related losses
• Conduct thorough on-site inspections and assessments to develop accurate, detailed scopes of work and estimates using Xactimate or comparable estimating software
• Negotiate scope and estimate approvals with homeowners, property managers, business owners, and insurance adjusters
• Hire, schedule, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors across all trades including carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
• Manage project budgets, job costing, and profitability — tracking expenses against estimates and flagging variances proactively
• Apply for required building permits and coordinate all necessary inspections with local authorities
• Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable local building codes; conduct regular safety toolbox talks on job sites
• Provide detailed written project updates with photos during and after every site visit to keep clients, insurance representatives, and internal teams informed
• Review all job site documentation to ensure services rendered are accurately recorded and billing requirements are met
• Manage customer and client satisfaction throughout the project, fostering trust and resolving concerns swiftly
• Coordinate with the Operations Manager and General Manager on daily priorities, resource allocation, and project status
• Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and training production teammates as needed
• Respond to emergency large loss events as required — availability for on-call response is expected
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in restoration, construction, or project management with demonstrated large loss or commercial project experience
• Strong working knowledge of Xactimate estimating software
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, FSRT, or equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtain
• Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects on time and within budget
• Excellent communication skills — written and verbal — with clients, insurers, and crews
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and on-call emergency response
• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field a plus
• Physical ability to climb ladders, work at heights, navigate crawl spaces and attics, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs
Compensation & Benefits
Our Client offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including:
• Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience)
• Performance-based bonus eligibility
• Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
• Health, dental, and vision insurance
• 401(k) with company matching
• Paid time off (vacation, sick, and holidays)
• Ongoing industry training and certification support
• Opportunity for advancement within a fast-growing franchise
Why Join Our Client?
Restoration is a recession-resistant industry — people always need help recovering from unexpected property damage. At Our Client, you will work on meaningful, high-impact projects that make a real difference in people’s lives. You’ll be part of a team that values excellence, integrity, and professional growth. If you are a self-motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced, field-driven environment, we want to hear from you.
