Universal Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Weekend, Evening & Overnight Schedules

$23.00/hr | $1,000 Sign-On Bonus | Weekly Pay

Abound Health is hiring compassionate, reliable Universal Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) throughout Mercer County, including Hermitage, Sharon, Grove City, Mercer, Farrell, and surrounding communities.

Universal DSPs are highly adaptable, skilled caregivers who can work across multiple service settings—licensed group homes, in-home support, and community-based services. We are seeking confident, flexible DSPs with 2+ years of caregiving experience who are comfortable supporting individuals with varying personal-care and behavioral-support needs.

We currently have full-time Universal DSP openings with weekend, evening, and overnight schedules available.

Available Schedules

Weekend Shifts

Saturday & Sunday | 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

• One DSP needed

Evening Schedule (Full-Time)

Saturday–Wednesday | 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

• One DSP needed

Overnight Rotating Schedule

Week A:

• Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday | 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

Week B:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday | 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

About the Role

Universal DSPs provide one-on-one and group-based support in homes, community settings, and licensed residential programs. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, dependable, and passionate about helping others—especially someone who thrives in a dynamic environment where each day may look different.

Your support helps individuals live safely, independently, and with dignity.

Key Responsibilities

• Support behavioral, social, and vocational skill development
• Assist with recreational and community activities
• Follow treatment plans and document progress
• Provide companionship and respite care
• Submit documentation and payroll on time
• Participate in ongoing training and development
• Assist with personal care needs as required
• Work independently in home, community, and group home settings

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience required
• Genuine interest in supporting individuals with I/DD
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance
• Comfortable supporting individuals with varying personal-care and behavioral needs
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass background checks
• Physical ability to assist with lifting or transfers if needed

Compensation

• $23.00 per hour
• $1,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates

Experience

• 2+ years of caregiving experience required
• I/DD experience preferred (paid training provided)

Signing Bonus Details

• $333 after 90 days (minimum 20 hours/week)
• $333 after 6 months (minimum 20 hours/week)
• $334 after 1 year (minimum 20 hours/week)
• Bonus not available for Residential Services or Relative as Provider (RAP) hires
• Applicants must not have worked for Abound Health or its affiliates within the past 18 months
