Tasks/Major Responsibilities

• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Veterinary/animal experience preferred or willingness to learn
• Complete physical examinations for sick shelter animals and recently adopted animals
• Administer medications following the treatment plan
• Clean and maintain animal housing, bedding, food/water dishes and trash removal in assigned area
• Animal handling experience in a shelter or veterinarian hospital, preferred

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; professional telephone etiquette
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Computer literate; ability to learn the PetPoint Software program
• Ability to restrain cats and dogs
• Must have a genuine interest in the work, programs, and the mission of Providence Animal Center

Physical Requirements

• Ability to handle animals safely
• Ability to handle dogs as large at 100 lbs
• Must sit, stand, walk, bend and stoop frequently to perform duties
• Ability to lift and carry 25lbs without assistance
