Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a community hospital in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and current PA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Community-based acute care hospital setting in northeastern Pennsylvania
• Emergency Department with 18 treatment rooms, including private rooms, a dedicated trauma room, a Fast Track area for lower-acuity patients, and negative-pressure isolation rooms
• Patients span all acuity levels including medical, surgical, cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, orthopedic, and trauma emergencies — both pediatric and adult populations
• Multidisciplinary team includes physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, radiology, and laboratory staff
• 13-week contract with potential for extension
• Evening shift (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM) and Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) available, 3x12-hour shifts per week

Requirements

• Active PA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• TNCC preferred
• CPI or de-escalation training preferred
• Strong IV insertion and critical assessment skills
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include rapid triage and assessment, medication and IV therapy administration, blood product administration, and assisting with emergency procedures such as cardiac emergencies, stroke response, sepsis management, trauma stabilization, and respiratory emergencies
• Patient education on diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge instructions is part of the role
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred but not required — first-time travelers are welcome to apply
