Assistant Director of Activities
Full Time | Days from 8:30am - 5pm
(Including 11am - 7:30pm one day/week & every 3rd weekend)
Assistant Director of Activities minimally starting at $20/hour

What will I do as an Assistant Director of Activities?
- Assists to plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the daily operations of Activities Department of this facility.
- Interview resident/families to obtain activity information and/or other pertinent information related to your job responsibilities and in a private setting.
- Plan, develop, and produce a facility newsletter which conveys information to residents and employees and affords opportunity for resident input.
- Provide consultation to members of our staff, community agencies, etc., in efforts to solve the needs and problems of the resident through the development of activity programs.
- Assure that all activity progress notes charted are informative and descriptive of the services provided and of the resident's response to the service.
- Meet with activity personnel, on a regularly scheduled basis, and solicit advice from inter-department supervisors concerning the operation of the department, assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services.
- Review and evaluate the dept. work force and recommend to the Director / Administrator the number and level of activity personnel to be employed.
- Assist in the scheduling of department work hours (including vacation and holiday schedules), personnel, work assignments, etc., to expedite work.
What is required in this position?
- Must be a qualified activities specialist or an activities professional who is licensed by this state and is eligible for certification as an activities specialist or as activities professional; or
- Must have, relevant experience in a social or recreation program experience; or
- Must be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or
- Must have completed a training course approved by this state.
- One year experience in long term care activities programs
