Residential Drug and Alcohol Counselor
We are now accepting applications for a Full-time Residential Drug & Alcohol Counselor position.
The Pathway to Recovery Program at Outside In offers a unique, non-traditional approach to addiction and substance abuse treatment for adolescent males (referred to as “students”). Fully licensed and accredited, our 48-bed residential drug-free (inpatient, non-hospital) program is tailored to the distinctive developmental challenges facing adolescents. The Outside In Pathway to Recovery Program strives to provide superior substance abuse treatment in a manner that honors and addresses the particular needs of the adolescent struggling with drugs and/or alcohol. Services are delivered in a positive manner and are built upon the foundation of each student’s own motivation to change. Responsibilities:
The Drug and Alcohol Counselor at Outside In is responsible for the overall delivery, monitoring, and reporting of clinical services. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Conducting group, individual, and family sessions for the students in the program
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve common goals
- Conducting assessment, treatment planning, progress noting, and other industry-standard documentation
- Providing professional court testimony on client progress and treatment recommendations
- Maintaining professional relationships with outside agencies
- Attending team meetings and trainings
- Responding to, documenting, and reporting crisis situations
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field and 2-5 years of experience in clinical and/or human service employment
- State licensure (LPC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT) and/or D&A Certification (CADC, CAADC) preferred
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
- Time management & organizational skills
- Valid Driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- The ability to secure a satisfactory criminal record check
- The ability to secure a satisfactory ChildLine clearance
- The ability to secure satisfactory references
- The desire to work with troubled teenagers in a positive and motivational manner
