Senior Staff Accountant

Techstra a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant  to manage daily accounting and bookkeeping tasks. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail and deep knowledge of regional laws/regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accuracy.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll journal entries (as applicable).
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Generate financial reports and assist with budget tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
  • Liaise with external accountants or auditors during tax season or audits.
  • Maintain organized accounting files and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Associate degree or equivalent experience may be acceptable for some roles).
  • 8+ years of experience in bookkeeping or staff accounting.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and sales tax compliance.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-state environment.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP knowledge is a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
