Job Title:Business Operations Consultant, R&D Data Science & Digital Health

We are seeking a Business Operations Consultant to support our R&D Data Science & Digital Health team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing planning cycles, leading business planning & budget management efforts, driving process improvement initiatives, and contributing to the development of project management best practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, researchers, and business leaders, to ensure that processes are optimized, strategic goals are achieved, and project outcomes are successful.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a strategic planning cycle, including processes for regular review and revision of strategic plans, alignment with organizational goals, and measurement of progress.

Lead process improvement initiatives to optimize business operations, ensure efficient project execution, and continuously improve project delivery effectiveness.

Work with cross-functional teams to map out project processes, identify bottlenecks, and develop solutions for process optimization and improvement.

Develop and implement comprehensive budgeting strategies to effectively manage financial resources within specified guidelines.

Collaborate with department heads to forecast budgetary needs and allocate resources appropriately to meet organizational objectives.

Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for adjustments to maintain fiscal responsibility and achieve financial targets.

Prepare regular budget reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key financial metrics and areas of concern or improvement.

Develop and implement project management best practices and tools to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

Contribute to the development of strategic plans by providing data-driven insights and recommendations based on process development expertise and understanding of organizational goals.

Participate in team meetings, workshops, and brainstorming sessions to identify opportunities for process improvement and strategic planning.

Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Collaborate with data scientists, researchers, and business leaders to ensure alignment of project goals with overall business objectives.

Conduct training sessions for team members on process improvement and project management best practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as science, process management, strategic planning, business administration, or related disciplines

Experience in strategic planning, process management, process improvement, and project management, contract management, preferably in the field of life sciences R&D, data science or a related field.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.

Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or similar platforms.

Ability to develop and implement a strategic planning cycle, including the ability to develop and execute a roadmap for the planning process.

Strong process orientation with the ability to analyze, map, and optimize project processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Knowledge of data science concepts and methodologies is a plus.

Preferred:

Focused degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry or related field preferred

Prior consulting experience, particularly in the areas of financial analysis, budget management, or strategic planning, with a reputable consulting firm or equivalent experience in a corporate environment.

Knowledge of Pharma R&D process is a plus
