Motor Technology, Inc., a national leader in providing superior quality and value in electro-mechanical repairs and services to our customers, is seeking an experienced Industrial Electronics Technician I for our shop. Since 1981, we have been an integral part of keeping national industries up and running smoothly and efficiently. We are a family-owned company that builds, services, and sells industrial motors, controls, gearboxes, and related driven equipment for advanced electric motor systems. Our Electronics Techs are responsible for performing repairs on various kinds of electromechanical components of industrial control assemblies.
The hours for this position are 7:00AM-3:30PM with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
Responsibilities:
- Read job cards to determine job status, work authorizations/limitations, estimate, description of problems, and/or expected serviceability.
- Analyze various manufacturers' schematic diagrams.
- Troubleshoot and test electronic components to board level, using various methods and testing equipment.
- Repair and/or replace electronic components to board level, including but not limited to: diodes, transistors, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, other printed circuit components, etc.
- Verify repairs using various start-up testing procedures.
- Operate specialized equipment, including but not limited to: oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, high-voltage insulation testers, AC/DC volt-ohm-milliammeters, clamp-on ammeters, frequency generators, signal generators, capacitance meters, various test panels, soldering equipment, infrared scanning equipment, various kinds of handheld power and nonpower tools, etc.
- Complete required forms on computer system for each job accurately.
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Experience with AC variable frequency drives and DC drives
- Basic understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to understand, perform, and retain skill-related training, and operational and safety procedures
- Comfortable working with customers
- Good computer skills
- Provide tools and toolbox
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- Willing to be on call one weekend every 4 weeks
- PLC experience, preferred but not required
