Armed Courthouse Bailiff
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications from qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an Armed Security Officer/Bailiff.
This position is responsible for maintaining security, safety, protection, and order within the County court buildings and courtrooms. Duties include screening visitors, operating security equipment, responding to emergencies, assisting in court proceedings, transporting prisoners, and enforcing courthouse security procedures to ensure the safety of judges, staff, jurors, and the public.
Minimum qualifications for the position are as follows:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
Must have one (1) year of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field; OR any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess and maintain a valid PA driver’s license
- Must possess an Act 235 certification (Act 120 certification is also acceptable)
- Must successfully complete annual firearms/use of force training and qualification
