Mechanical Engineer
Our client, a precision manufacturing company based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team. This role supports the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems and production equipment used across their manufacturing operations. The position works closely with cross-functional teams including quality, production, and supply chain.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading root cause analysis on equipment failures, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting new product introduction processes. The role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities
- Design and modify mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for equipment and process failures
- Support new product introduction by developing manufacturing processes and tooling
- Conduct tolerance analysis and apply GD&T principles to engineering drawings
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers on component sourcing and qualification
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation including BOMs, ECOs, and work instructions
- Drive continuous improvement projects targeting cost reduction and throughput gains
- Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software
- Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and engineering drawing standards
- Experience with FMEA, root cause analysis methodologies, and lean manufacturing principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is preferred
