Pay: $20–$40 per hour (based on experience)

Hours: Full-time, 40+ hours per week with on-call rotation

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Gate and Barrier Service & Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has experience in electrical, mechanical, or electronic maintenance — but we’re also willing to train the right person with a strong work ethic and technical aptitude.

You’ll be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing all makes and models of gate operators, access control devices, and active vehicle barrier systems at commercial and government facilities.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, and repair gate operators, automatic gates, and vehicle barriers.

• Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues in low- and high-voltage systems.

• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks per UL325 and ASTM standards.

• Work independently or as part of a small team in the field.

• Communicate professionally with customers and provide detailed service documentation.

• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service calls.

• Travel as needed (overnight travel is rare — approximately 5%).

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting Pay: $20–$40/hour (commensurate with experience)

Qualifications

• Previous experience in gate systems, electrical, mechanical, or electronic maintenance preferred

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Valid driver’s license with a clean record

• Must pass background and DMV checks

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Self-motivated with attention to detail and reliability
