Associate Data Analyst
- With support of the Director and Assistant Manager, develop an understanding of how the data contained in various systems are utilized and can be joined to create useful information to support decision making
- Assist with the oversite of primary and secondary databases to maintain data integrity and data hygiene by reviewing input, output, and performance indicators to locate and correct problems, assist with data analysis, improve productivity, reduce redundancies, and optimize efficiency and quality
- Assist with d evelop ing and maintain systems and tools for tracking performance including analysis on the performance of attendance, membership, and admission initiatives
- Remain up to date on best practices in data stewardship and reporting
- Attend the interdepartmental business systems meetings to ensure consistency of use across database and identify opportunities for increased collaboration and sharing best practices
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with business rules, Museum policies, IRS, PCI and GDPR guidelines are maintained at the highest level within databases and outputs including reporting and dashboards
- Develop technical training documentation for systems supporting the department
- Interpret data, analyze results using proven techniques and provide comprehensive and accurate dashboards with clear data visualizations and ongoing reports
- Work with a team to design, build, test, and maintain dashboards in Excel and Tableau and reports in Excel that reveal data driven insights in a compelling manner
- Identify and recommend process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for assigned areas of responsibility.
- As part of a team, ensure general admission, membership and programmatic offerings are available for reservation and purchase through Museum ticketing and membership platforms and maintain a coding structure that allows for comprehensive reporting across systems and databases
- Develop and maintain systems for segmenting audiences for communication including, but not limited to, visitation emails, acquisition, acknowledging membership transactions and donations; solicitations for renewal, donation, or acquisition; and general information about Membership and museum activity
- Assist in the identification and implementation of tools to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Provide other information as needed to support data-informed decision-making within the Membership and Visitor Services department
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 4+ Years of data analytics and/or reporting experience that directly aligns with the responsibilities of this position.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with data manipulation and reporting tools such as Excel, Access, and Tableau
- Ability to work with and rationalize data from multiple systems and generate competitive intelligence and knowledge for decision making.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
- Successful in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.
- Working knowledge and experience in museum industry and customer relationship management software solutions, focused experience in a museum environment or similar preferred
- Experience with Accesso Siriusware, Accesso Passport, Raiser’s Edge, Google Analytics, MS Access, MS Excel, SQL/Transact-SQL and Tableau and Import-OMATIC a plus
- The hourly rate for this position is $27.47.
- This position is Full-Time, Non-Exempt, and 35 hours per week.
- This position is part of the AFSCME Local 397 bargaining unit.
- This position reports to the Director of Systems and Analysis.
- Physical requirements:
- Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus
