Driver/Caregiver (Direct Support) – $17.50/hr – Mercer, Hermitage, Greenville & Surrounding Areas, PA

Full-Time Schedules | Weekday Hours | Weekly Pay | Paid Training

Abound Health is hiring Driver/Caregivers to provide safe transportation and hands-on support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role combines driving responsibilities with direct caregiving, including light to moderate hygienic support , offering meaningful, person-centered work that truly makes a difference.

What You’ll Do

As a Driver/Caregiver, you will support individuals both on the road and throughout their day. Responsibilities include:

• Pick up individuals from home, transport them to the day program, assist during the day program, and transport them back home
• Safely transport individuals to medical appointments and community outings
• Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle as needed
• Provide 1:1 support to assigned clients
• Support individuals at the day program (projects, cleaning, assisting with outings, etc.)
• Assist with light to moderate hygienic needs (basic personal care, hygiene reminders, minimal hands-on support)
• Encourage independence and help individuals build new skills
• Ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of all passengers and clients
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of assigned vehicles
• Follow daily route schedules and communicate proactively about delays or concerns
• Complete required documentation, including daily logs and incident reports
• Participate in initial and ongoing training
• Work independently in the community while adapting to changing needs

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• CPR/First Aid Certification (provided upon hire)
• Physical ability to assist with lifting or transfers, depending on client needs
• Experience supporting individuals with IDD preferred but not required
• Minimum 1 year of transportation experience preferred

Compensation

Starting Pay: $17.50 per hour (flat rate)

Schedule (Driver/Caregiver Position)

Monday–Friday:

• 6:30 AM–9:00 AM
• 1:00 PM–4:00 PM

Will provide caregiving services at the day program from 9am - 1pm

Work Location & Travel

• In-person role
• Travel required throughout Greenville, Mercer, Hermitage, Sharon, and surrounding communities
