We’re currently seeking a dedicated Wellness Specialist for a Full-Time, 80 hours bi-weekly position at Luther Acres, the Luthercare community in Lititz, PA.

WHAT YOU DO:
As a Wellness Specialist at Luther Acres, you’re an integral part of ensuring our residents safely enjoy our Wellness Center and the programs offered to enhance their body, mind and spirit. You’ll assist in the development of fitness programs, health/wellness education, activities, and events and monitoring daily operations of the center. You’ll work one-on-one with members who use the center, write safe and effective exercise programs, assist with fitness evaluations, and revisions of programs. You’ll also:
- Provide supervision and assistance to the residents and employees while using the pool, spa, and fitness room.
- Perform lifesaving functions if necessary.
- Develop and implement exercise classes for both land and pool. Assist with teaching/instruction both land- and water-based classes.
- Assist the manager with the processing of new members; to include scheduling functional fitness evaluations, first workouts, orientations and proper filing of paperwork.
- Assist with development and implementation of employee wellness programs and activities.
- Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of the pool, spa and pool area, and fitness room.
- Assist with daily operations, including basic cleaning and record keeping.
- Compile and present information on relevant health and wellness topics for bulletin boards, handouts, and educational presentations.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, health/physical education, or a combination of the aforementioned areas of study and experience.
- Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary certification (CPR) or certification within ninety (90) days of employment.
- Current Red Cross Life Guard certification or Luthercare approved equivalent Life Guard certification; or willingness to attain certification within ninety (90) days of employment
PREFERRED JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES/EDUCATION:
- Long-term care aging services experience preferred.
- Proficiency in swimming.
- Experience teaching group exercise classes.
- ACSM Health/Fitness Instruction, or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
EXPOSURE TO HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to blood and body fluids is seldom.
- Exposure to hazardous gas/chemical fumes is occasional.

Luther Acres – located in the charming, historic town of Lititz – is a Continuing Care Retirement Community with a long history of providing excellent care and services. It is part of Luthercare, which is a not-for-profit, faith-based, and mission-driven organization. Luthercare provides a network of services through its full continuum of care with two communities in Lancaster County. Luther Acres is its largest community, with nearly 600 residents living across its independent living cottages and apartments, personal care apartments, and skilled nursing healthcare center.
