Clinician

Unit: 7C Medical / Surgical. 7C is a 26 Bed Unit providing care for patients of various ages and medical needs.

Hours: Rotating Days/Nights, 3 Weekend Shifts per month

The Clinician serves as a nurse leader, directly accountable for fostering a culture of excellence and advancing patient care. As a distinguished role model of professional nursing practice, the Clinician operates under the guidance of the Unit Director or department manager. Responsibilities include conducting staff evaluations, overseeing recruitment and hiring, and managing the daily performance of assigned team members. The Clinician also provides service-based education and clinical expertise, supporting staff through orientation, training, practice consultation, and coordination of clinical activities. When necessary, the Clinician assumes shift accountability to ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing care.

• Coaches colleagues on cultural diversity and addresses workplace challenges such as horizontal violence and impairment

• Integrates research and evidence-based practices into daily operations
• Shares improvements across units and disseminates learning throughout the business unit or health system

• Serves as a preceptor for student nurses, interns, graduate nurses, and experienced staff
• Supports the development of new preceptors in their role
• Acts as a role model for continuous learning and formal education
