Senior quality assurance engineer

Onward Robotics (Pittsburgh, PA) to work closely with our Systems Engineering team to refine requirements, define tests to verify those requirements and assess the performance of the system under test. Specific job duties include: Working with product and engineering teams to refine formal system capabilities; Designing tests and test plans to verify the system requirements; Writing clear and concise defect reports for any issues encountered during testing; Providing timely status reports to the project leaders regarding release readiness; Mentoring junior Quality Assurance Engineers; and Test writing, test executing, and issue tracking. Master's degree in IT/IS or a related field. Must have 2 years of prior work experience in the position offered or related in testing environment with robot systems. Must know (through academic training or work experience) leading the End-to-end automation team and driving automation initiatives; designing, building and maintaining automated test suites and frameworks to validate robot behavior, back-end functionality, and overall product features using tools such as Ty prescript, Python, Mocha, Jenkins, Git, JIRA, and Xray; performing in-depth testing of robot systems and sensors, including system-level evaluations and hands-on troubleshooting for performance and integration; developing and managing frameworks, pipelines, and APIs with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Postman, Bruno, and Loopback.io; maintaining traceability between evolving product requirements and test coverage to ensure that changes are verified and documented throughout the development cycle; reviewing regression and simulation runs using GCP, Grafana, BigQuery, and PostgreSQL; participating in planning discussions with cross-functional stakeholders to communicate test coverage, surface quality concerns, and assess release readiness; and acting as the lead trainer for new hires, providing onboarding, mentoring, and guidance on both automation tools and infrastructure.
