Join Symbotic’s Customer Operations team, the group entrusted with the daily performance of our robotic material handling system. We partner with onsite customers to deliver top-tier safety, quality, and system results. If you enjoy running complex automation through an HMI and jumping in hands-on when needed, this role is for you.

Your impact

• Guarantee startup readiness: pre-production checks so automated adapters are set to run.
• Drive throughput: control manual inbound, automatic inbound, and automatic outbound via HMI to achieve cases-per-hour goals.
• Prepare pallets for induction into the Symbotic storage and retrieval system.
• Own recovery: analyze stoppages on the HMI and perform manual interventions to return equipment to service.
• Escalate fast: notify operational leadership immediately about any production-impacting issues.
• Protect uptime: perform system preservation, robot recovery, suspect removal, and bot health tasks.
• Inspect routinely: cleaning, lubrication, tolerance verification, and component validation.
• Correct at the source: report out-of-spec conditions and execute root-cause corrective actions to keep components running.
• Communicate clearly: use standard radio etiquette when receiving direction from leaders and operational leads.
• Maintain rover bots: replace wheels; clean components, ESD brushes, and sensors.
• Recover automated robotic vehicles in the Symbotic Matrix select system, including work in confined, restrictive environments.
• Take on other duties as assigned by leadership.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Associate degree or equivalent training/experience in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or a related discipline (preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience with mechanical automation systems (or equivalent education/training).
• Comfort with inspection tasks: cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checks, current measurement, and basic electrical system checks.
• Ability to prioritize workload to maximize uptime and throughput within an automated cell.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to procedures.
• Works independently using procedures and manuals.
• Effective multitasker across multiple functions simultaneously.
• Proficiency: Warehouse experience.

Environment and physical demands

• Steep stair climbing to access the structure; work near railings elevated off the ground.
• Indoor setting with weather protection but temperature variability from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
• Construction sites require PPE: hard hat, safety vest, steel-toe footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, and fall protection (e.g., safety harness).
• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs; move items up to 80 lbs.
• Stand/walk 10–12 hours with frequent reaching.
• Work at heights up to 45 feet and in spaces as tight as 24 inches; includes standing, climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Occasional/continuous abilities: feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movements with both hands and feet. Compliance with all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout and fall protection, is required.
