Cloud System Administrator
Job Description
The Cloud System Administrator is responsible for supporting enterprise cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments, ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of systems and applications. This role includes managing CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native services, containerization, and Microsoft 365 administration. The Cloud System Administrator will work closely with Development, QA, Security, and Infrastructure teams to support application deployments, maintain high system uptime, and enable secure operations in a 24x7 environment.
Responsibilities
- Provision, configure, and maintain enterprise-grade infrastructure in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Provide full-stack support across application and infrastructure systems including Microsoft 365 (Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams), server environments, network services, and cloud-native resources.
- Partner with Development, QA, and Security teams to support secure application deployments, configuration management, release pipelines, and system performance tuning.
- Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
- Build and orchestrate containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Script and automate tasks using TypeScript or Python for provisioning, monitoring, configuration, and incident response.
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including user provisioning, license management, configuration policies, and collaboration tools.
- Manage and monitor secure Managed File Transfer (MFT) systems to support business file exchange requirements.
- Deliver general infrastructure and application support including installation, patching, system monitoring, disaster recovery planning, upgrades, and capacity planning.
- Lead incident response, participate in production support activities, and perform root cause analysis for performance or availability issues.
- Troubleshoot system and application issues involving configuration, network connectivity, and security validation.
- Implement and manage monitoring KPIs and dashboards using tools such as Datadog, ELK, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity team to implement cloud security best practices, encryption protocols, and access controls.
- Manage network configurations including VPCs, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, load balancers, and content delivery solutions.
- Maintain detailed documentation on configurations, procedures, deployments, and change management activities.
- Support a 24x7 operational environment, responding rapidly to incidents while minimizing user and business impact.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure management (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Proficiency with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong scripting skills in TypeScript or Python.
- Experience with container platforms (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with MFT systems (e.g., GoAnywhere, MOVEit).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and cloud network configuration.
- Experience with encryption technologies, security protocols, and IAM policies.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate, GCP Cloud Engineer).
- Microsoft 365 certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate).
- Experience with infrastructure compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST).
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies in a cross-functional team setting.
- Exposure to serverless and microservices architecture.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a root cause mindset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical teams.
- Highly organized with strong documentation discipline and time management.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-availability environment with 24x7 responsibility.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and continuous improvement oriented.
