Automotive Service Advisor

THE ROLE
As a Service Advisor, you are the vital link between our customers and our technicians. You won't just be "taking orders"—you’ll be a consultant, helping customers understand their vehicle's health, explaining necessary repairs, and selling maintenance services that keep them safe on the road. We provide the training; you provide the positive attitude and the drive to learn.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Customer Advocacy: Greet customers in person and by phone with a professional, positive energy.
- Consultative Selling: Explain technician-recommended services and repairs to customers, providing clear estimates and obtaining approval.
- Workflow Management: Schedule appointments and manage the daily shop flow to ensure efficiency.
- Detailed Documentation: Create and update repair orders; maintain accurate customer records and vehicle history.
- Technical Liaison: Communicate effectively with technicians to provide customers with real-time updates on vehicle status and timelines.
- Financial Handling: Process payments, invoices, and explain warranties.
- Shop Pride: Keep the front office clean, organized, and welcoming for every guest.
REQUIREMENTS
- Basic Vehicle Knowledge: You should know your way around a car (e.g., you know the difference between a brake pad and a spark plug) and be eager to expand your technical knowledge.
- Sales Mindset: Comfortable discussing money and explaining the value of preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year in a customer-facing role (Automotive, Retail, or Hospitality preferred).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to "translate" complex mechanical issues into easy-to-understand language.
- Tech-Savvy: Basic computer proficiency; familiarity with Shop Management Software (SMS) is a major plus.
- Credentials: High School Diploma (or equivalent) and a valid driver’s license.
