Position Overview:

A Quality Control Specialist is responsible for making sure that products meet a set of standards. by examining shipments of inventory and raw goods, measuring the specifications of products in each production run and training the production team members to refine production quality. This candidate will perform assessment, documentation, and organization tasks to support the efficiency and effectiveness of their organization’s supply chain.

Responsibilities:

Quality Control (QC):
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM
Pay: $18.50/hour

  • Inspect output samples using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing standards, measuring dimensions, and examining functionality.
  • Ensure there is always quality testing; conduct inspections to meet the standard set by the organization.
  • Checking that the production line adheres to standards and procedures and complies with legal requirements.
  • Focus on corrective actions to make sure that products meet required specifications.
  • Remove bad products that are discovered during the production process.
  • Recording inspection results by completing checklists, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database.
  • Work with the Quality Control Supervisor regarding specific information relating to product information and production.
  • Report bottlenecks to the Quality Control Supervisor.
  • Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
  • Proposing improvements to the production process.
  • Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discarding any that does not meet requirements.
  • Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training.
  • Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
  • Verifying all equipment is calibrated correctly.
  • Using gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products.
  • Collecting and compiling statistical quality data
  • Determining the causes of product defects and reworks.
  • Approve finished products for onward shipment to the market.
  • Encourage and enforce cleanliness on the part of the staff and ensure safe working conditions.
  • Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-3 years in related field preferred
  • Must be comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time (8-12 hours shifts)
  • Good written, verbal communication/ reporting skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Must have basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications
  • Must have ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers, and computers
  • Associates or bachelor's in applied science with emphasis on manufacturing, engineering, QC background/ focus preferred but not required.

Scheduled: Monday-Thursday: 1:15pm-11:45pm with OT
