Summary:
Blade Technician is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, replacing, inspecting and modifying all processing, packaging and facility equipment with optimal quality and efficiency.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to stand on cement, reach with hands and arms and stoop over 2/3 of the time.
- The employee may often be subject to lifting up to 75 pounds.
- The employee should have good vision (close distance, color, peripheral, depth and focus).
- Familiarity with all applicable equipment and provide quality inspections on all related items. Maintain communication with other departments and employees as to notify them of any problems and concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production. Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible for adhering to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and other requirements.
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.
- Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's. Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
- Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, and fall restraints.
- Responsible for food safety and food quality related to designated area.
- Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Essential Qualifications:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, Cold (40-45 degrees) and wet environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
- Skill in organization, prioritization and attention to detail.
- Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
Additional Desired Position Qualifications/Skills
- Operate our CMMS system and demonstrate 100% functionality in order to complete work orders in the system.
- Possess good communication and organizational skills.
Position Education & Training Preferred
- High School diploma or equivalency (such as a technical degree) required; specific technical training to support the Maintenance Skills Summary, basic business requirements such as attendance, punctuality and good work habits.
