Position Overview

The Bellefonte Area School District is seeking a Cafeteria Floater to support daily food service operations across multiple school buildings. This part-time role is essential to ensuring smooth meal preparation, service, and cafeteria cleanliness while providing positive interactions with students and staff. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling cash transactions, using point-of-sale systems, and adapting to changing assignments.

Key Responsibilities

The Cafeteria Floater will:

• Prepare and portion food items according to daily menus and safety standards

• Serve meals courteously and efficiently to students and staff

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, serving areas, and dining spaces

• Operate cash drawers and computer-based point-of-sale systems

• Interact pleasantly and effectively with students, staff, and supervisors

• Float between school buildings as needed to support food service teams

Education Requirements

*Minimum: * High School Diploma/GED

Experience Requirements

Minimum:

• Prior experience in food service operations

• Familiarity with cash drawer handling and point-of-sale systems

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
