Membership Specialist (Temporary)

Our client, an award-winning nonprofit organization in the Lehigh Valley , is seeking a temporary Membership Specialist to support its Development team. This role assists with donor engagement, gift processing, and membership coordination to help ensure a positive and responsive experience for donors and supporters.

Position Overview

The Membership Specialist provides administrative and operational support to the Development team to help meet fundraising and membership engagement goals. This role assists with donor stewardship, gift processing, and coordination across departments to support the organization’s development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Process donor gifts and maintain accurate donor records within the donor database.
  

• Prepare and distribute donor acknowledgment letters and related communications.
  

• Support donor cultivation efforts by coordinating outreach and responding to membership inquiries.
  

• Assist with administrative coordination for fundraising initiatives and development projects.
  

• Organize and manage multiple tasks and priorities in support of the Development team.
  

• Collaborate with internal teams including Finance, Marketing, Education, and Membership Services.
  

• Maintain organized documentation and records related to donor activity.
  

• Provide additional administrative and operational support to the Development team as needed.
  

Working Hours: Standard hours are Monday–Friday, approximately 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM , with flexibility to work additional hours or occasional weekends based on organizational needs.

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  

• Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
  

• Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, membership services, or administrative support preferred.
  

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  

Additional Requirements

• Flexibility to work occasional extended hours or weekends if needed.
  

• Valid driver’s license may be required if travel is necessary for work activities.
  

• Candidates must successfully pass required background screenings.
