Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support clinical operations within a skilled nursing facility. Strong candidates will work closely with the Director of Nursing to help oversee nursing staff, maintain regulatory compliance, support quality initiatives, and ensure smooth day-to-day clinical operations throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, adaptable, and comfortable working within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Work Setting: Onsite
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $90,000 – $115,000 USD/Annually

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Nursing with daily clinical operations
- Assist with oversight of nursing staff, scheduling, and workflow coordination
- Help maintain compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations
- Participate in survey preparedness and quality improvement initiatives
- Support infection prevention and resident care programs
- Assist with staff education, mentoring, and performance management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency
- Help foster a positive and accountable clinical culture throughout the facility
- Support implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and best practices
- Monitor documentation standards and assist with maintaining regulatory compliance
- Assist leadership with staff development, retention, and operational support initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Pennsylvania
- Previous nursing leadership experience within skilled nursing or long-term care preferred
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and clinical operations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive within a fast-paced environment
- Strong team-oriented mindset with a hands-on leadership approach
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and facility leadership
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality resident care
Compensation
The published salary range is used as a guide to provide prospective candidates with a level of compensation that is competitive with today’s market. The salary range for this position is a good faith estimate that allows for flexibility to align with various levels of experience, education, and performance.
