Job Summary
At Calcium+Company, the Director, Social provides day-to-day leadership for the social media practice within Public Relations, overseeing a portfolio of client social media programs and driving strategic integration, performance excellence, and business growth. You are responsible for advancing the impact of social initiatives across client portfolios, ensuring operational rigor, regulatory compliance, and measurable communications outcomes. You serve as a senior client partner and internal leader, guiding Managers and Coordinators while maintaining accountability for revenue performance and scalable growth within regulated healthcare environments. This role requires strong commercial acumen, strategic vision, operational discipline, and advanced people leadership.This role embodies Calcium+Company’s core values of commitment, integrity, and respect in both the work and in team collaboration.
Key Job Responsibilities (Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following)
- Oversee a portfolio of social media accounts, ensuring strategic alignment with broader brand and communications objectives
- Serve as strategic advisor to clients, leading high-level planning discussions, business reviews, and performance evaluations
- Provide leadership and direction to social media coordinator and broader teams across the organization
- Drive integration across Social Strategy, Paid Social, Content Creation, and Community Management to ensure cohesive execution
- Ensure programs deliver measurable performance outcomes aligned with client business and communications goals
- Maintain strict adherence to regulatory and compliance standards across all social initiatives
- Lead resource planning and workflow optimization to support sustainable and scalable growth
- Identify and drive revenue expansion opportunities within existing accounts
- Play an important role in new business acquisition, including strategic positioning and pitch participation
- Advance reporting sophistication and performance measurement frameworks
- Guide innovation efforts, incorporating emerging platform capabilities and evolving digital behaviors into client strategies
- Represent core social capabilities in agency thought leadership and positioning initiatives
Job Qualifications (Skills/Requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field
- 6-8 years of experience in social media leadership within agency or in-house environments
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-account portfolios and senior-level team members
- Strong understanding of social ecosystem evolution, analytics frameworks, and performance optimization
- Deep expertise in regulated healthcare communications and compliance frameworks preferred
- Proven ability to drive revenue growth and account expansion
- Executive-level client communication and presentation skills
- Strong financial and operational management capabilities
- Experience developing and mentoring high-performing leadership teams
- Strategic mindset with ability to connect long-term vision to measurable business outcomes
