Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Ottumwa, IA 52501 (Southeast Iowa)
• Healthcare Setting: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025)
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (specify preference when applying)
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Patient Ratio: 1:6, supported by CNAs and LPNs
• Electronic Health Record: MediTech
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,910 - $1,960

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license (Iowa or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Mandatory reporter certification (Child and Adult)
• Ability to complete Iowa SING background check (criminal and child abuse)
• Recent titers (within last 12 months)
• 10-panel drug screening (including opiates)
• Willingness to float to facilities within a 25-mile radius
• Travel nursing experience preferred

RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms; report changes to the healthcare team
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, LPNs, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care using MediTech EHR
• Educate patients and families on care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Comply with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Float to other units within a 25-mile radius as needed
