Position Overview

The Assistant Shop Manager (ASM) role at Quick Lube of Carolina LLC / Take 5 Oil Change allows you to continue developing your technical skills (approximately 80% of your time) while learning the leadership and operational skills necessary to manage a shop. This position is a critical step on the path to becoming a Shop Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all technician duties, including draining motor oil, changing oil filters, greasing chassis fittings, washing windshields, and adjusting tire pressure
• Inspect and top off vehicle fluids
• Assist customers in selecting oil types and additional services
• Process payments for services performed
• Perform coolant exchanges and transmission drain & fill services
• Maintain inventory levels and restock supplies on the shop floor
• Keep the shop, office, and restrooms clean and organized
• Check in with customers before they leave to ensure a great experience
• Ensure proper store operation in the absence of the Shop Manager
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Assist with inventory counting and adjustments
• Serve as a role model to other employees, supporting team culture without direct responsibility for hiring or firing

Qualifications/ Physical Requirements

• Strong commitment to learning and mastering Quick Lube of Carolina LLC / Take 5 Oil Change’s oils and services
• Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3-foot deep pit safely
• Physical capability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform manual tasks for extended periods
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
• Alertness and situational awareness in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Reliable transportation
