Job Overview

Our client, a growing commercial and industrial solar company based in Texas, is looking to bring on a number of exceptional Apprentice Electricians with utility-scale solar experience to support a number projects in the region. This role is a full-time position with our client.

Job Responsibilities

• Travelling to project sites in Central Pennsylvania
• Working under the direct supervision and direction of a Journeyman Electrician
• Assisting with pulling heavy-gauge DC and medium-voltage cables through trenches, conduit, or messenger wires
• Managing and plugging in solar module strings and installing wire clips to secure wires neatly to the racking system
• Assisting in the mechanical assembly and electrical mounting of combiner boxes, string inverters, and tracker components
• Helping perform open-circuit voltage and insulation resistance testing
• Hand-torquing structural and electrical connections to manufacturer specifications and applying torque marks for QA/QC inspection
• Reading and interpretnig basic electrical schematics, civil blueprints, and manufacturers' installation manuals
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper inventory tracking of tools and materials
• Strictly adhering to all site safety standards, including OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E compliance, and proper PPE usage.

Successful Candidates Must Have:

• Previous AC utility-scale and/or commercial solar installation experience
• Extensive knowledge of IRC, IFC, and NEC
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
• Communication, collaboration, and detail-orientation skills
