Responsibilities
- Prepare meals in accordance with approved menus, recipes, diet orders, and nutritional guidelines
- Ensure food is prepared, served, and stored safely and according to federal, state, and facility regulations
- Assist with meal service and food preparation for residents
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, work areas, and food storage areas
- Assist with daily and scheduled cleaning assignments
- Follow all food safety, infection control, and sanitation procedures
- Work as part of a team to provide a positive dining experience for residents
Qualifications
- Previous experience preparing meals in a healthcare, institutional, or large-scale food service setting preferred
- Completion of an approved dietary or food service training program preferred
- Positive attitude and genuine compassion for older adults and individuals with disabilities
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the position
