Job Summary: Reporting to the VP of Production, the Manufacturing Operations Specialist plays a key role in documenting, analyzing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering, production, and quality teams by creating clear, accurate, and actionable documentation that supports seamless operations.
Responsibilities:
1.Documentation and Standards
- Develop, write, and update standardized work instructions, process flows, and SOPs for all areas of the Electronics Production floor.
- Implement documentation standards to ensure consistent and accurate documentation is readily available.
- Observe real time production processes to capture step-by-step procedures and convert them to clear, operator-friendly documents.
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, properly controlled and aligned with company standards.
2.Process Analysis and Improvement
- Identify and escalate opportunities for process improvements or documentation gaps.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations.
3.Communication and Collaboration
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality and Engineering teams.
- Facilitate reviews of draft instructions to ensure clarity, usability and completeness.
4.Digital Integration
- Convert existing paper-based instructions and processes to a digital platform.
- Support integration of documentation to FactoryLogix or similar MES systems.
- Assist in structuring digital workflows and supporting enhancements.
- Provide training to employees on how to navigate digital documentation systems.
Qualifications/Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
•2+ years’ experience in electronics manufacturing preferred ideally in a documentation or process control role.
•Demonstrated experience with writing work instructions, creating SOPs, and supporting process improvement.
•Strong observation skills with the ability to gather information from multiple sources and translate it into clear instructions.
•Knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100, J-STD and IPC standards.
•Experience using MES Systems; FactoryLogix preferred
•Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Organized, adaptable and process oriented.
•Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/ Six Sigma preferred.
