Procurement Manager

Job Summary
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing the procurement function at JTM Foods, LLC. This role ensures the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services while maintaining a high-quality, reliable, and safe supply chain. The Procurement Manager will develop procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, oversee department operations, and support initiatives aligned with company goals and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage supplier negotiations, pricing, contracts, and ongoing supplier performance evaluations
- Conduct value analysis on products, materials, and suppliers to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
- Develop, maintain, and analyze procurement tools, dashboards, and reports to support informed purchasing decisions
- Oversee and participate in supply chain audits, inventory cycle counts, and special counts; reconcile discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Define, document, and maintain department SOPs related to planning, procurement, and logistics
- Train, mentor, and support team members to ensure SOP compliance and continuous improvement
- Analyze market trends, supplier risks, and industry developments to proactively mitigate cost and supply chain risks
- Implement processes supporting lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Finance, R&D, and Logistics
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of procurement staff
- Manage bulk tank inventory and replenishment
- Improve procurement systems, processes, and departmental standards
- Develop and manage purchase orders
- Expand and diversify supplier channels to ensure continuity of supply and competitive pricing
- Develop and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement plans
- Ensure responsible use of company funds and minimize unnecessary expenses
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field (preferred)
- 5–7 years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in food manufacturing or CPG
- Proven supplier negotiation and contract management experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Sage preferred)
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
- Strong leadership and cross-functional communication skills
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and office environment
- Occasional travel to supplier locations and/or multiple JTM facilities
