DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform semi-skilled and skilled work in several trades within the youth development center/youth forestry camp (YDC/YFC) system. You will provide daily upkeep and long-term maintenance of buildings and grounds, as well as operate the boiler plant. You will function as a lead worker over semi-skilled workers completing carpentry, heating, cooling, painting, masonry, and electrical work. You will also install and maintain plumbing fixtures, steam lines for heating, steam traps, radiator valves, and install pipe for water lines. This role requires applying solid maintenance knowledge to complete assignments and the ability to ensure work complies with federal, state and agency regulations. In addition, you will recommend repair or replacement of equipment, requisition supplies, and drive vehicles to pick up and deliver parts, materials, and equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Schedule may change based on operational needs. This position is considered essential during weather and other emergency events. Overtime as needed, may be voluntary or mandatory. FREE parking. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

You must have possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C non-commercial driver's license.

Other Requirements:

You must be willing to accept employment at Southeast Youth Development Center and commute to this location in Montgomery County. You must meet the PA residency requirement. Legal Requirements:
