Wills Eye Hospital is hiring a Clinical Assistant and Patient Care Coordinator in Philadelphia, PA . In this role, you’ll work closely with the patients, physicians, and clinic management team to coordinate appointments and services for the patient(s) . This is a Full-Time 40 hours per week opportunity for someone who wants to help people, creat e organization , and keep operations running smoothly.

In this role, you’ll support patients, providers, and clinical teams while helping deliver high-quality ophthalmic care. You’ll manage patient coordination and front-end clinical operations within an ambulatory/physician practice setting and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all patients are greeted in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Ensures the appropriate demographic insurance information are properly entered into NextGen practice management system.

  • Completes and manages the task list from the Call Center regarding patient inquiries.

  • Coordinates physician orders, including laboratory tests, radiology imaging, and specialist referrals, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

  • Performs pre-charting of patient records by entering relevant clinical information to support efficient and informed patient care.

  • Completes and manages the task list from physicians and follows up with the patient(s) as needed.

  • Monitors and organizes incoming results, preparing documentation for physician review and follow-up.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Requires strong patient service skills, strong communication and writing skills, and strong computer skills

  • Uses effective communication skills with patients and staff; demonstrates proper telephone techniques and etiquette; acts as an escort to any patient or family member needing directions; shows sensitivity to differences of culture; demonstrates a positive and supportive manner in which patients / families/ colleagues perceive interactions as positive and supportive.

  • Individual must be comfortable interacting with patients, management, and physicians on a regular basis.

  • Individual must demonstrate strong interest in understanding the operational flow and in using critical thinking skills to service the patients’ needs each day.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3-5 years’ medical practice experience
