General Carpentry Superintendent

Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Superintendent to lead and oversee day-to-day operations for a well-established and growing commercial painting and carpentry firm located in Delaware County PA. With a strong commitment to quality craftsmanship and exceptional customer service we have become a trusted partner for a wide range of construction projects.
The General Superintendent will be responsible for managing the daily jobsite activities for multiple construction projects ensuring project success and enforcing company policies all while ensuring a safe and productive work environment. This position requires strong leadership experience in all aspects of carpentry materials means and methods blueprint reading and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage carpenters and field staff to ensure successful project delivery.
- Conduct pre-job evaluations to ensure field success.
- Provide administrative support and report job conditions to Division Leader and Project Management.
- Implement Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and other control techniques to minimize waste and keep the project on budget.
- Enforce safety practices by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations conducting safety training and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Manage jobsite work products and staff ensuring adherence to ZSI processes and procedures.
- Hire train supervise and motivate field staff and subcontractors.
- Maintain awareness of company activities identifying challenges and taking corrective actions in collaboration with leadership.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct field staff and subcontractors on the jobsite ensuring the team follows company policies and procedures.
- Responsibilities include assigning work appraising performance and addressing employee concerns.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and applicable laws.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Associate degree in Construction Management (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a foreman or construction management role.
- Strong understanding of construction principles workflows and safety compliance.
- Lean Construction Principles training and experience (preferred).
- Proven leadership skills with a focus on motivating and developing teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make sound timely decisions.
- Experience working across multiple levels of jobsite management.
- 10-hour OSHA certification required 30-hour OSHA preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
