Additive Materials Program Leader
- Support Sourcing and Supply Chain using Additive Manufacturing Methods to improve delivery and cost
- Lead collaborative cross-functional teams while building consensus and driving alignment across materials, design, manufacturing, GE Aerospace Research, and quality teams to increase the technical maturity of advanced additive manufacturing methods using the TRL/MRL processes.
- Execute technical projects & programs using daily management and action plans to reduce technical risk associated with new additive manufacturing methods, building and leveraging significant domain expertise in the additive field.
- Drive risk management through the utilization of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to identify key risks. Development and execute migration plans during TRL development to retire the risks.
- Lead/support root cause investigations and corrective action implementation
- Influence standard work for quality assurance through ownership and/or authorship of key specifications controlling powder, printed castings, and finished part standards; drive efficiency in processes and update additive specifications as needed
- Design and conduct studies to characterize the impact of variation within manufacturing process windows, and use results to recommend updates to specifications, technical plans, and standard work instructions
- Lead or support efforts to ensure part quality with a reduced reliance on physical testing and an increased reliance on non-destructive methods including, but not limited to in-process monitoring approaches and/or other standardized methods
- Provide MAE (Materials Application Engineering) support for parts under development that utilize additive manufacturing
- Make cross-product linkages, leveraging additive expertise to provide insights on current and potential additive components
- Proactively identify lessons learned and best practices and ensure appropriate documentation
- Provide consultation and share expertise with colleagues also developing additive technologies
- Communicate significant developments with leadership and consult on technical roadmap development
- Systems thinking through the broader integration of design, materials science, manufacturing, and quality.
