Accountant
A growing defense technology company in the Pittsburgh area is seeking an Accountant to join its finance team supporting advanced engineering and government-funded programs. Nokomis develops cutting-edge sensing and electromagnetic technologies used to support national defense and space-domain awareness initiatives, offering employees the opportunity to work within a highly technical, mission-driven environment.
As the company continues to expand and manage increasing government contracts, the accounting team plays a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.
About the Role
This position is ideal for an Accountant who enjoys hands-on operational accounting within a structured, audit-focused environment. You’ll work closely with accounting leadership supporting daily financial operations, reconciliations, and reporting while helping ensure compliance in a regulated government-contract setting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable, purchasing transactions, and vendor payments
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and maintain accurate records
Assist with monthly and year-end close activities
Support audit preparation and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
Qualifications
1–4 years of accounting experience with GL and reconciliations
Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables and lookups preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; U.S. Citizenship required
What We Offer
Competitive base salary: $55,000–$65,000
