Job Summary

We are seeking an Injection Molding Process Technician sets up, adjusts, and monitors plastic injection molding machinery on 2nd and 3rd shifts to maintain stable production processes and consistent part quality. This role performs tool changeovers, optimizes molding parameters, and rapidly resolves machine or process anomalies. They will work closely with Quality Control and Maintenance to drive scrap reduction, improve cycle times, and support operator safety in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform tool changeovers, set up molds, and execute proper startup/shutdown procedures on plastic injection molding machinery.
• Establish, monitor, and optimize process parameters (temperatures, pressures, feed rates) to maintain stable operations and consistent part dimensions.
• Rapidly diagnose and resolve complex molding process, machine, resin, and tooling defects during production runs.
• Inspect molded parts for visual and dimensional defects, maintaining tight quality standards and compliance.
• Accurately document process settings, parameter changes, production output logs, and daily scrap counts.
• Perform routine equipment safety checks, tool cleaning, and preventative maintenance tasks on injection molding presses.
• Partner with Quality Control and Maintenance teams to address machine breakdowns and resolve root-cause quality issues.
• Support training for machine operators on quality standards, basic press operation, and safe part handling.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing scrap rates, shortening cycle times, and increasing overall machine efficiency.
• Adhere strictly to OSHA standards, machine safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and 5S housekeeping guidelines.
• Monitor auxiliary equipment (dryers, thermolators, hot runner controllers, material loaders) to prevent process contamination.
• Work required daily overtime (45 minutes per shift) to ensure smooth production handoffs between shifts.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2-3 years of direct experience setting up, operating, and processing plastic injection molding machines.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix process, machine, resin, and tooling issues.
• Proven ability to use precision measuring tools and inspect molded parts against quality specifications.
• Capability to work fixed 2nd or 3rd shifts, including daily 45-minute overtime schedules.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Shift Schedule;

• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:15 PM (Includes 45 mins daily OT)
• 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM - 7:15 AM (Includes 45 mins daily OT)
