EventsThe Mains Course Catering & Events is adding a team member to our growing catering and events team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both cooking and hospitality and wants real experience in a fast-paced, professional catering environment—while working alongside a wonderful, supportive team and serving outstanding clients.Ideal candidate:- Has some cooking experience — or is currently in culinary school or a recent culinary graduate- Enjoys both kitchen prep/cooking and front-of-house hospitality- Is excited to be cross-trained in multiple areas of catering and events

Position includes:- Kitchen prep and cooking with our culinary team- Cross-training for on-site catering and event staffing- Assisting with plated and service-focused eventsSchedule & hours:- Approx. 15–20 hours per week- More hours available during our busy summer season- Required availability: Thursdays & Most Sundays- Some Fridays & SaturdaysPay & perks:-

Duties

• Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including food handling, bussing tables, and kitchen sanitation protocols.
• Manage food safety standards by following proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with event setup, breakdown, and support during special functions or catering services.
• Support inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and ensuring proper food storage practices.

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, food service, or quick service restaurant environments.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques.
• Experience in serving or bussing in a café or restaurant setting is highly desirable.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. This role provides an engaging opportunity for individuals passionate about the food industry who enjoy working in a lively team environment while delivering memorable guest experiences.
