Join EMD as a Manufacturing Quality Systems Engineer

Location: Cheswick, PA

Bring your quality engineering expertise to EMD and take the lead on building and deploying quality control inspection software and related systems that keep production precise, compliant, and efficient.

What your day could look like

• Design and implement quality control inspection software programs and contribute to the creation of comprehensive QA data packages.
• Support and participate in internal and external audits, surveillances, and inspections to verify compliance.
• Translate customer and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable manufacturing instructions.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to inspectors and operators on the floor.
• Analyze production data to produce reports, visualize trends, and recommend improvements.
• Drive and participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Proactively identify potential quality risks tied to projects or suppliers and escalate/mitigate as needed.
• Review, assess, and respond to customer and supplier correspondence with accuracy and professionalism.
• Communicate effectively within cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are achieved and sustained.

What you bring

• BS in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• U.S. citizenship required due to DoD program requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Auditing background is a plus.
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt preferred.
• Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) considered a strong advantage.

Compensation

Salary: $59,700 – $86,300 per year. This range is a general guideline for a role based in Pennsylvania. The final offer will reflect the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the position, and applicable market and business factors.
