Drafting Technician

Overview

We are seeking a Drafting Technician to support engineering and design teams by producing accurate and detailed technical drawings for a variety of projects. This role involves collaboration with engineers, attention to detail, and a mix of office and field work to ensure quality and precision across all deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics using AutoCAD software for electrical, mechanical, and other engineering projects.

• Collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure drawings meet project specifications and company standards.

• Maintain organized, up-to-date records of all drawings and documentation.

• Conduct field visits to gather data, measurements, and verify design accuracy.

• Prepare as-built drawings and related documentation following project completion.

• Perform additional drafting or design-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical drafting education preferred.

• Experience: 1+ years of drafting experience preferred; AutoCAD proficiency required.

• Software Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite recommended.

• Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and eagerness to learn.

Work Environment & Requirements

• Environment: Combination of office, shop, and customer site locations; some outdoor work may be required.

• Physical Demands: Ability to climb stairs and ladders and walk on uneven surfaces (gravel, mud, snow, etc.).

• Travel: Occasional local travel; 1–2 weeks of overnight travel per year.

• Hours: Full-time position; overtime may be required based on workload and project schedules.
