Commercial Management- Design Build – General Construction

A well established, commercial construction contractor completing projects in the Greater Philadelphia market/ local tristate area (PA/NJ/DE), is actively seeking to add an experienced Estimator to join the team. This role is responsible for securing profitable work through comprehensive estimates and excellent customer service, while effectively utilizing and contributing to the team’s success. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Sample responsibilities and experience:

• Ground Up, Renovation, Addition projects
• Project types include; Commercial, Higher Education, Institutional, Healthcare, Hospital, Corporate Office to name a few
• Experience conducting quantity take-offs, proposals, bid work, meeting with clients
• Build estimates based on an understanding of design, constructability, and sequencing of a project
• Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors
• Preparation and negotiation of bid packages
• Negotiating, drafting, and purchasing of subcontract agreements
• Creating estimating spreadsheets
• Development of budget estimates; defining project scope; value engineering; validating budget at construction document stage
• Perform necessary research to produce accurate, complete, and competitive pricing
• Communicate with customers to define the project scope, address deficiencies, negotiate pricing, and build relationships
• Prepare and present completed estimating packages to company executives and senior management
• Follow up on all bid projects and accurately forecast future awards / probabilities
• Must be able to complete accurate take-offs, and prepare scopes and schedules

Qualifications:

• Three (3) or more years of relevant commercial construction estimating experience
• Commercial Construction experience is required for consideration
• Degree a plus but not required (Construction Management, Engineering, Business, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience in relevant industry estimating software a plus (Smart Bid, Red Team, Bluebeam Revu, Builder Trend, Procore, WinEst, TimberScan, On-Screen Takeoff, and P6 Primavera)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be organized, detail-oriented and efficient
